Mariya Goodbrake, founder and director of Global FC, draws on her own experience as a young Afghan refugee to empower Kansas City’s immigrant and refugee youth through sport, mentorship, and academic support, creating one of the region’s most diverse organizations serving youth from over 29 countries. In recognition of her impact, she has earned numerous honors, including the 2024 Pinnacle Prize.
