Training Leaders to Promote
Religious Freedom & Women’s
Empowerment

Empower Women Media is a multi-faith network that inspires, equips and mobilizes leaders to support human rights and religious freedom (UDHR, Article 18). Through media, education and leadership initiatives, we seek to support everyone’s human right to live what they believe.  Our goal is to provide leaders with a tool kit of educational and media resources that support multi-faith collaboration in the workplace & civil society. We partner with government, business, academic, media, NGO, and faith leaders to build social movements that foster inclusive, peaceful, and thriving societies.

Mariya Joins Empower Women’s Media to Advance Human Rights Through Film

Mariya has joined forces with Empower Women’s Media to champion the power of visual storytelling as a transformative tool for advancing human rights. By using images, videos, and other visual formats, she works to amplify awareness, foster empathy, and drive action. Empower Women’s Media trains women worldwide in the art of media content creation, empowering them to craft, write, and produce stories that inspire change and challenge injustice. In 2018, Mariya’s short film Global FC earned the silver medal at the Religious Freedom & Business Film Competition in South Korea. Two years later, her short film A Long Road to Freedom claimed the grand prize at the Empower Women Media and Religious Freedom & Business Foundation competition.

“ What film and stories do is give us a tiny crack where we can each recognise our own humanity in someone else, in that space, we understand each other, and when we understand each other, we care. And once you do that, something better becomes possible.”
